Sobre a Oficina de Drumsynth:

In this guided workshop, each student will build an electronic synthesizer module called ‘drumsynth’ designed by the independent artist/musician Zach D’Agostino, from Portland, OR USA. The drumsynth is a simple oscillator triggered by an external sound source, such as, acoustic drums or other percussive instruments, objects or surfaces via a standard or contact microphone. When triggered from the external sound source, the signal can be modulated in three ways: sense/starve, decay and pitch. The goal of this workshop is to provide a basic introduction to soldering and the construction of an electronic synthesizer. Accessibility was a driving force in the creation of this module. Many synthesizer modules are not accessible to most people due to their exceptionally high costs. The cost of this workshop covers the cost of the parts only. Participants will be welcome to bring other instruments, tools, pedals, speakers etc. to add to the experience.

Kelly Rauer is an artist who utilizes video, movement, sound, and electronic and acoustic instruments to create installations and performances. She is a facilitator at the artist-run space called S1 & the Synth Library in Portland, OR, USA.
